9 Best Natural Remedies to Relieve Constipation Fast

Are you suffering from constipation? You are unable to defecate despite your best efforts. Hopefully, today you’ll find a complete solution to clear your bowels. But only if you read this article till the end.

In this article, I’ve shared some effective methods that I’ve researched and personally tested. If you follow them, you too can get relief from hard stools and constipation.

In this blog post, I’ve talked about some natural foods that can relieve constipation within 10 to 15 minutes. I’ve also discussed a few effective medicines that work 100% and have no harmful side effects. Let’s learn the best ways to stay free from constipation!

What Should You Do If You Can’t Poop?

Many people struggle with the question: What should I do if I can’t poop? The first step is to figure out the root cause. Constipation is the most common reason, but in some cases, kidney problems can also play a role. If your issue is kidney-related, you should consult a kidney specialist. However, if the problem is due to constipation or hard stools, here are a few natural remedies that might help.

1. Drink Warm Cow’s Milk: Cow’s milk is rich in nutrients that can support digestion. If you’re dealing with constipation, try drinking a glass of warm milk daily especially before bedtime. The lactose and healthy fats in milk can help soften stool and stimulate bowel movements. However, avoid drinking too much, as it may lead to loose stools in some people.

2. Eat Raw Chickpeas: Raw chickpeas are incredibly beneficial for gut health. Just chewing 20–30 raw chickpeas on an empty stomach every morning can help clear your bowels naturally. Chickpeas are high in fiber and protein, which improve digestion, soften stools, and also help regulate blood sugar levels.

3. Have Paratha for Breakfast: Though parathas are sometimes linked to gas, many people (myself included) find that having a paratha for breakfast helps trigger a bowel movement. The fiber from whole wheat flour and natural fats from ghee stimulate the digestive system. Just make sure it’s not deep-fried or overly greasy. Pairing it with yogurt or vegetables can enhance digestion even more.

Those who think, “I don’t eat much rice, so I don’t need to poop every day,” — please understand that regular bowel movements are not just about how much you eat. Irregularity is a health issue that shouldn’t be ignored.

How to Clear Your Bowels in 10 Minutes

How to Clear Your Bowels in 10 Minutes

According to researchers, many diseases start from digestive issues or constipation. That’s why doctors say, “If your stomach is clear, everything is clear.” I will share effective ways to clear your bowels quickly. I hope you find a complete solution here today.

Take Psyllium Husk: Psyllium husk has many health benefits, especially for relieving constipation and promoting regular bowel movements. If you take one teaspoon of psyllium husk soaked in a glass of water every morning on an empty stomach, you will likely avoid constipation forever. This is a time-tested natural remedy that has worked for hundreds of years.

Use Lactu Syrup: Lactu syrup is a well-tested and very effective medicine to clear the bowels. It can be safely used by people of all ages—from young children to the elderly. For children, there is a special lower-dose version. If you are suffering from severe constipation or haven’t had a bowel movement for 2 or 3 days and find it painful to go, taking two teaspoons of Lactu syrup can clear your bowels within 10 to 30 minutes.

There are other ways to clear your bowels quickly, but in my opinion, these two are enough. If you need immediate relief, use Lactu syrup. For regular bowel health, make psyllium husk a daily habit. Following this advice can help you avoid constipation and keep your digestive system healthy.

Natural Foods to Clear Your Bowels

I already mentioned two effective ways to clear your bowels. In my opinion, those are enough for most people. However, there are many other natural ways to relieve constipation that everyone should know. Because you may not always have psyllium husk or Lactu syrup available. Here are two natural foods that can help clear your bowels quickly:

Tamarind: Tamarind has many health benefits. It helps soften stool, relieves constipation, improves digestion, helps control high blood pressure, increases appetite, supports heart health, and cleanses the blood. If your stool is very hard, try dissolving 5 to 6 tamarind pods in water and drink the water. Within 30 minutes, you should experience softer stool and easier bowel movements.

Lychee: Lychee is a seasonal fruit, but its benefits are surprising. If you have hard stool or difficulty passing stool, eating 10 to 15 lychees at once can help. Within 30 minutes, you may feel stomach cramps followed by easier bowel movements.

Both tamarind and lychee are very beneficial for your health, and after a few days of eating them regularly, you will feel the difference. For children suffering from constipation, these natural foods are especially good, since medicines can sometimes be harmful to young kids.

Ways to Soften Stool

Many people experience stool that is neither hard nor soft. It takes time to pass, and even after finishing, it feels like more is left inside. There are several ways to soften your stool. If your stool suddenly becomes hard, you can take a syrup called “Lactu” from the pharmacy. It will soften your stool within 30 minutes. You can also try drinking water mixed with tamarind.

But if you often have hard stool regularly, then you should eat one of the following natural remedies daily for about a month. This will help soften your stool over time.

Drink Lemon Syrup: Every morning, make a syrup by mixing lemon juice with warm water and drink it. Within 2 to 3 days, your stool will become softer and you will have regular bowel movements. You can also drink lemon juice with cold water, but warm water helps not only soften stool but also improves digestion and freshens your breath.

Eat Flaxseeds: Earlier, I recommended psyllium husk for constipation. You can also add flaxseeds to your psyllium husk intake. Flaxseeds are naturally slippery, so when they mix with your food in the stomach, they help make the stool softer and easier to pass.

Names of Tablets for Clearing Constipation

Many people search online for tablet names to clear constipation and take them. In my opinion, this is not the best way. Instead of tablets, it is better to use natural remedies to clear your bowel. However, if you have not had a bowel movement for a long time, then you can take constipation clearing tablets. But remember, these medicines are meant for one-time use only and should not be taken for a long time.

Here are some common tablets used to clear constipation:

  • Duralax
  • Dulcolax
  • Lactulose
  • Senna Tablets
  • Bisacodyl
  • Ezyfeel)
  • Laxavin
  • Glysup
  • Ezylife 10 mg

Among these, the first three are the most commonly used. You can use the others if you want. But when buying these medicines, please consult a doctor or pharmacist and learn the correct way to take them. Also, because these are one-time use medicines, taking them for too long can cause loose stools.

Conclusion

Natural remedies like warm milk, raw chickpeas, tamarind, lychee, lemon juice, and ispaghula husk are very effective in relieving constipation or hard stools. Regular use of these not only clears the bowel but also improves digestion. In urgent cases, lactulose syrup or doctor-prescribed tablets can be used, but these are not long-term solutions. A healthy diet, adequate water intake, and regular exercise are the key to preventing constipation.

Keeping the stomach clean is the first step towards a healthy life. Home remedies for constipation are easily accessible and safe, but if the problem persists for a long time, consulting a doctor is essential. Remember, prevention is better than cure. Therefore, by eating fiber-rich foods, walking regularly, and reducing stress, you can stay free from this problem. Stay healthy, stay aware, and prioritize your health naturally.
