What are the symptoms of stomach pain – it is almost impossible to say in one word or exactly. Because many different reasons can cause stomach pain, and it varies from person to person. For some, it may be a temporary discomfort, while for others it could be a sign of a serious health problem. Generally, the common causes of stomach pain are discussed in detail below so that you can easily identify which one matches your problem.

  • Gastric problems: Excessive consumption of spicy, oily, or fried foods can cause gastric issues, which may result in burning sensation and pain in the stomach.
  • Liver problems: If the liver is not functioning properly, toxins accumulate in the body causing pressure and pain in the stomach area.
  • Appendicitis: Appendicitis causes severe pain in the lower right part of the abdomen and if not treated quickly, complications increase.
  • Kidney problems: If severe pain occurs from the lower back to the stomach and happens regularly, it may indicate kidney stones or infection.
  • Diarrhea: Due to viruses or bacteria, diarrhea causes muscle spasms in the stomach leading to pain.
  • Bacterial infection in the stomach: Consuming unsafe water or contaminated food may introduce bacteria causing infection and stomach pain.
  • Eating spoiled food: Toxins in old or rotten food produce gas in the stomach causing pain.
  • Excessive walking after eating: Running or sudden physical activity after eating may cause digestive problems, gas, and stomach pain.
  • After bowel urge: Sometimes after the urge to defecate, the stomach swells and mild pain is felt.
  • Polyps in the stomach: Especially in women, polyps in the ovaries or uterus may cause stomach pain, but men can have this too.
  • Pain due to menstruation: Many women experience pain caused by uterine contractions during menstruation, which is completely normal.
  • Injury to the stomach: External impact or pressure on the stomach can cause internal bleeding or pain.
  • Holding urine or stool for too long: Prolonged retention of urine or stool causes pressure on the bladder and intestines leading to uncomfortable stomach pain.
  • Constipation: Long-term lack of bowel movement or hard stools create pressure in the lower stomach causing pain.
  • Excessive hunger: Staying hungry for a long time produces acid in the stomach leading to gastric pain.
  • Tumors in the stomach: Any tumor inside the stomach presses on organs causing pain.

Usually, stomach pain occurs due to these important reasons. However, this does not necessarily mean that your stomach pain is due to any one of these problems. Minor causes such as indigestion, temporary stress, or environmental changes can also cause stomach pain.

But if you notice that your stomach hurts every day or regularly without any specific reason, do not neglect it and definitely consult an experienced doctor or gastroenterologist.

Immediate Ways to Reduce Stomach Pain

Immediate Ways to Reduce Stomach Pain

For those who take painkillers to reduce stomach pain, a word of caution: any kind of painkiller can cause serious long-term damage to your kidneys and liver. Therefore, you should never take painkillers unnecessarily or without a doctor’s advice. Instead, you can rely on natural and home remedies to reduce pain. Natural ingredients are safe for the body and can easily relieve stomach pain without any side effects.

Pathorkuchi Leaves: Pathorkuchi leaves are known as a highly effective natural remedy for stomach pain. They work so quickly and well that sometimes they seem even more effective than medicine. When you feel stomach pain, immediately wash a fresh Pathorkuchi leaf, sprinkle a little salt on it, and chew it. Within just 5 to 10 minutes, InshaAllah, your pain will begin to subside. This is because the leaf contains natural pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce pain quickly. Make sure the leaf is fresh and properly washed.

Mint Leaves Consumption: For any kind of stomach pain, indigestion, upset stomach, or nausea, mint leaves are an extremely effective and natural solution. The menthol in mint aids digestion and relaxes stomach muscles. When you have stomach pain, you can chew washed mint leaves or make tea by brewing mint leaf juice in a cup of hot water and drink it. This provides quick relief. Mint not only reduces pain but also helps normalize digestion and relieves stomach discomfort.

Salt Water: If you suddenly experience stomach pain, you can drink a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of pure salt mixed in. Salt water reduces stomach acidity and helps relieve pain caused by gastric issues. It can also kill stomach bacteria, especially if the problem is food-related. For even better results than salt water, you can take an oral rehydration solution (ORS) or saline, which maintains electrolyte balance in the body and quickly reduces stomach pain.

Water and Abdominal Pressure Technique: If at the time of stomach pain you don’t have any herbal remedy or medicine nearby — like Pathorkuchi leaves, salt, or saline — you can try natural pain relief. Drink two glasses of plain water. Then bend forward and sit down, slightly folding your stomach, and gently press the painful area with both hands for about 5 minutes. InshaAllah, the pain will reduce significantly. This is a mild pressure therapy that aids digestion and helps relieve trapped gas or stool.

However, if your stomach pain is regular or you feel the urge to defecate but can’t, often passing stool relieves the pain. But having daily stomach pain is not a normal symptom. If you regularly suffer from such problems, you should definitely consult an experienced doctor. Because there could be a serious underlying health issue.

What to do if you suddenly have stomach pain

If you suddenly have stomach pain, you can take some effective home remedies without panicking. If the pain is not severe and is caused by gas or mild digestive problems, then by adopting a few simple methods, the pain will subside quickly, InshaAllah.

Immediate measures:

  • Crushed stone leaves
  • Mint leaves
  • Thankuni leaves
  • Salt mixed water
  • A gastric medicine (Sergel 40mg)

If you have any of these at hand, you can chew them or take specific medicines. In most cases, the stomach pain will subside a lot within 10 minutes of taking these measures, InshaAllah.

However, if the pain is severe and none of the above works, then adopt the following natural and emergency method.

Cold water gargle

If you suddenly have severe stomach pain, take cold water or ice from the refrigerator in a container or bottle, wrap it in a thin cloth and place it on the painful area on the stomach. This reduces the temperature of the stomach and reduces internal inflammation, resulting in a gradual decrease in pain. This method is especially effective if the pain is due to gastritis, heartburn or acidity. You can apply it for up to 10–15 minutes.

Stomach compression

If you don’t have anything at hand, then follow the following procedure:

  • Lie down or lie on your right side with your legs folded.
  • Hold a pillow or thick cloth firmly on your stomach.
  • In this state, drink a glass of cold water mixed with light salt.

In this state, the body remains relaxed and the discomfort or tension of the abdominal muscles decreases. Usually, the pain starts decreasing within 5–10 minutes.

When is it necessary to see a doctor?

If the stomach pain does not decrease or the pain increases even after using the above methods, it is very important to seek medical attention immediately. See a doctor without delay, especially if you have the following symptoms:

  • Severe pain that continues to increase
  • Nausea, fever, or blood in the stool
  • Pain in children or pregnant women
  • Pain that lasts more than 2 hours

Because, stomach pain can be an early sign of more serious diseases such as gastritis, food poisoning, gallbladder problems, ulcers, or appendicitis. Remember, stomach pain is not a common thing, many diseases start in the stomach.

Stomach pain relief medicine

Stomach pain can be caused by many reasons. For example: – If you have liver problems, kidney problems, gas problems, have a bowel movement and have an empty stomach for a long time. However, it is better to tolerate stomach pain than to take stomach pain relief medicine. Because, taking painkillers damages the kidneys and liver.

  • Sergel 40mg
  • Algin 100 mg Tablet
  • Losectil Tablet
  • Rabeloc Tablet
  • Rekool Tablet
  • Rabium Tablet
  • Antacid Tablet
  • Motigut 10 mg
  • Omep 20 mg
  • Naproxen Tablet

All the above are stomach pain relief medicines. You can buy any of the medicines from here and take it. However, if the stomach pain is regular, then it is better to see a doctor. And if it happens occasionally, then you can try the “Sergel 20 mg” gas medicine first. If the stomach pain is better after taking this, then you will understand that your stomach pain is due to gas problems.

Dua to reduce stomach pain

Islam is like a boat floating on the sea for people. Just as if you get on a boat, you will be saved from drowning. Similarly, the person who accepts this religion will be saved in this world and the Hereafter. Just as Allah Almighty has created diseases, He has also given a dua to save you from those diseases.

Hazrat Usman ibn Abul As As-Shaqafi (RA) one day came to the court of the Prophet (PBUH) with stomach pain. Then the Prophet (PBUH) asked him to recite the following dua seven times, placing his right hand on his stomach and reciting Bismillah three times.

Arabic pronunciation:-  أعوذُ بِللهِ وُغُرتِه من شرِّ ما أَجِدُ وُحاذِرُ

Bengali pronunciation: Awju bi’izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma azidu wa uhajiru. Uthman (RA) said, “After I recited this supplication, Allah cured my stomach pain and since then I have been advising others to cure their stomach pain with this supplication.” (Muslim, Hadith No. 4199, Abu Dawood, Hadith No. 3851)

If you eat with intention and faith, place your right hand on your stomach and recite Bismillah three times and recite this supplication seven times, then InshaAllah your stomach pain will get better. Also, if you recite Surah Fatiha seven times and Durood Sharif a few times, blow on the water and drink the water, your stomach pain will also get better, InshaAllah.

Conclusion

I hope you have benefited from this post. Although stomach pain is a very common problem, sometimes it can also be a sign of a serious illness. So even if you initially try home remedies, if the pain is regular or severe, definitely consult a doctor.
